If you are a traditionally published author whose books are available from Ingram or one of the 5 major publishers, please email rumorscoffeeandteahouse@gmail.com to inquire about us carrying your books.  We do not generally carry books just because the author reaches out, but will consider something if it has local interest or national attention.

If you are self-published or published by a small press that is not available at regular discount/returnable from Ingram then we would consider your book on consignment.  Please read the policy below before emailing us.

Townie Books is a small-town, family bookstore in the heart of Crested Butte.  We are a small store and can only carry books by local authors or authors who have a connection to Crested Butte.  We find that the consignment books that do sell well in our store are books about the region, nature/outdoor survival books, or books by well-known locals who do a lot of self-promotion. We find success with authors who get a PSA published in the Crested Butte News and Gunnison Country Times and/or The Crested Butte Magazine. Please do not inquire about us carrying your self-published book unless you meet the above criteria.

 

Disclaimer from our consignment agreement:

Townie Books agrees to display materials left here on a consignment basis for 6 months. During that period, Townie Books may contact the consignor to request additional quantities for sale, and/or to pay the consignor for items already sold. Townie Books expects the consignor to pick up unsold books or pay for the delivery if shipping is needed. Townie Books will pay 60% of the cover price or a different amount if agreed upon by both parties for any sold books. Townie Books will dispose of books left more than 1 month without retrieval or payment for shipping to a a valid return address. Townie Books will only pay for items that were sold. Damaged or stolen items are the sole financial responsibility of the consignor.
