The Book of V. by Anna Soloman
his novel is amazingly inventive! From the very first page, you will want to follow Solomon wherever she is going to take you... which is into the lives of three different women in three very different times in history. And yet, the experience of being a woman is what connects them together in a profound way. The core story is about Esther, a fiercely independent young woman who becomes queen, against her will, in ancient Persia. There is also Vivian, a strong and sexy senator's wife in the 1970's who is pushed too far. And Lily, a modern-day mom in Brooklyn trying to figure out who she is. Brilliantly written!
